GENeral Contracting – PROject Management (GEN-PRO) was established and incorporated (1320376 Ontario Ltd.) in October of 1998. We specializes in interior Commercial and Institutional (ICI) construction work. GEN-PRO has developed ongoing relationships with a dedicated group of suppliers & subcontractors who work alongside our company on a regular basis. With a growing list of Clients, Architects and Engineers, GEN-PRO has proven to be a successful General Contractor serving the Ontario Region.
For the past twenty (20) years, GEN-PRO has pride itself on continued success within the construction industry with the completion of thousands of projects varying in size and complexity. Each one of our team members is committed to working with Clients, Consultants, Project Managers and Subcontractors towards the successful completion of all projects.
Our firm has a diverse group of Clients, many of which have accepted GEN-PRO as a preferred and pre-qualified General Contractor. Our Clients call on us to carry out renovations, tenant improvements, new construction, emergency service or minor works. GEN-PRO works closely with its Clients ensuring that communication with construction progress, scheduling and other project related issues is continued throughout the course of the job, guaranteeing customer satisfaction.
GEN-PRO’s President, John Dawson, has over 50 years of construction experience and has grown the company from a one-man operation to a fully functional, well-established General Contractor with approximately twelve (12) office and sixteen (16) full time site personnel. GEN-PRO is qualified and capable of managing and supervising projects up to $20,000,000.
GEN-PRO prides itself on our priority for Safety. We have been recognized for our safety performance and maintaining Zero Lost Time Injuries by receiving the an OGCA (Ontario General Contractors Association) Safety Achievement Award for the past several years.
As a testament to our safety culture, GEN-PRO has received the Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the IHSA (Infrastructure Health and Safety Association). We have been certified since March of 2017 and it is important that we continue to demonstrate that Health and Safety Management is being developed, implemented and evaluated on a regular basis through comprehensive internal and external audits.
Up to date safety training is mandatory for all employees and an important part of each project. Training that is required includes, but not limited to; WHMIS, Fall Protection/Working at Heights, Basics of Supervision, Heavy Equipment Operation, Trench Safety, Propane, First Aid, CPR and AED. Our full-time in house Health & Safety Officer makes regular site visits to ensure that safety practices and procedures are being adhered to by all Site Supervisors, labourers and sub-contractors.
