The Challenge

The greatest challenge was the compressed schedule. Every day a restaurant is closed for renovation, it impacts both the franchise owner and the loyal customers who rely on their morning routine.

 

Many of our most challenging projects as commercial contractors have taken place in high-traffic, sensitive environments like active hospitals and busy shopping malls. These sites require a specialized approach to logistics, where we tend to manage noise and material deliveries in hallways shared by patients or shoppers. At GEN-PRO, we’ve mastered the art of the “quick-turn” renovation. Our team ensures that the transition from a construction zone back to a serving counter happens with zero wasted movement.

Why This Project Was Essential

Brand standards have changed to suit people’s preferences today. Renovations are an investment in the customer experience for a Tim Hortons franchise.

 

The key components of modernizing this space were to optimize the dining area’s comfort and the kitchen’s “flow.” Our goal was to establish a setting that would encourage people to meet here. The addition of modern mechanical and electrical systems also guaranteed that the newest high-efficiency kitchen appliances could function well with reduced long-term operating expenses for the owner.

Scope of Work

  • We installed custom architectural millwork, modern seating arrangements, durable ceramic floor, and wall tiling designed to withstand heavy foot traffic.
  • Our team handled the installation of signature slat ceilings and high-impact visual graphics that defined the Tim Hortons brand identity.
  • We managed all mechanical and electrical connections required to hook up owner-supplied kitchen equipment. We made sure everything from the espresso machines to the industrial ovens was calibrated and ready for “Day One.”
  • Every project includes comprehensive washroom renovations that prioritize cleanliness and modern fixtures.
  • For standalone locations, we revitalized the building’s “face” using a variety of materials like stone, siding, tile, or stucco.
