This project included the installation of a new artificial turf field at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville.
When the Halton District School Board looked to install a new artificial turf field at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville, they issued a formal Request for Tender (RFT). GEN-PRO was the successful bidder that was awarded the contract after providing a competitive stipulated price. As an institutional contractor, we take the pre-completed designs provided and execute the build to its exact specifications.
The primary challenge on this project was the heavy civil work required before the “grass” ever arrived. Because we work on a stipulated price basis, we carefully reviewed the site’s drainage and soil specifications to ensure our execution would be flawless. GEN-PRO had to manage large-scale excavation while ensuring that the school’s surrounding property remained safe and undisturbed during the construction process.
High school sports fields in Ontario see a lot of “wear and tear” from the weather and constant use. An artificial turf field was essential for White Oaks because it provided a reliable, all-weather playing surface that doesn’t turn into mud after a rainstorm. It’s an investment in student health and school spirit, and provides a gathering place that the whole Oakville community can be proud of.
We focused strictly on the construction of the field based on the provided drawings. Our scope included:
At GEN-PRO, we take pride in our reputation as a reliable contractor. After winning the RFT and delivering this project on a stipulated price, we provided the Halton District School Board with the best possible value. While the design for the field was provided to us, our team brought the technical skill and management necessary to turn those plans into a top-tier athletic facility for the White Oaks students.
